Wahoo! Our 5th Annual Ride!
We're back from our May 7th and 8th ride, and this our 5th annual was as fun as always.
Every year is different because we seem to grow by one every year, so this was a slightly different ride than past years.
- Two day ride, instead of previous years 3 day ride.
- Camping out at the beautiful Sulphur Springs Camp in Bend Texas
- Ride started and end in Bend Texas the first day.
Other than the above, was a ride very similar to past years.
We usually shoot for 100 miles and make it, or at least a couple of us do. This year we cut it short a bit, Jeff got 90.1 miles, and everyone else some lesser amount by varying degrees. One of the healthiest signs of our little group was that no individual seemed driven to prove themselves by going beyond their limit.
If you're a family member who has wanted to participate, but felt intimidated by the high testosterone nature of this ride's early years, talk to Kristi and Nathan and David and verify for yourself how non-existent the pressure is to ride at a speed or distance that is beyond your capacity. You may be pleasantly surprised and decide to join us next year.
New Participants?
Gpa Ara came to act as photographer.
Kristi joined us this year! Yeah! It's hard to quantify how sweetly that changed the feeling of the ride. Great riding companion, and a great spirit. Thanks Kristi!
